In Loving Memory
Robert Edward Woolsey
October 5, 1959 - July 18, 2025
Robert Edward Woolsey Jr., of San Diego, California—formerly of Baltimore, Maryland—was called home to be with the Lord on July 18, 2025, at the age of 65.
Born on October 5, 1959, in Baltimore, Maryland, “Bob” was a proud Maryland Native & a lifelong sports fan, he especially loved the Baltimore Ravens & Baltimore Orioles. Though Baltimore remained close to his heart, San Diego became his home for the past 34 years, where he built a quiet but happy life.
Robert was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Edward Woolsey Sr. and Betty Lou Ellingsen, his brothers Bruce Duane Woosley, and Thomas Ellingsen.
He deeply cherished his Aunt Joan, also of California and her extended family and always cherished family gatherings with them.
He shared a strong bond with his daughter, Rachel Leigh Culling of Belcamp, Maryland, and found great joy in being “Pop” to his grandchildren: Hannah Fizer, Joshua Burchard, and Ryland Culling. He also treasured his friendship with his son-in-law, Jayar Culling, enjoying their shared love of the band Deep Purple & their vinyl record collections.
Robert will be remembered for his dependability, love of music, sports and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. His faith offers peace in knowing he now rests in the arms of the Lord, reunited with those he loved and missed dearly.
A private memorial will be held in his honor. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Robert’s memory by playing a favorite record, watching a Ravens game, or simply spending time with those you love.
